For the majority of people setting a shed in their yard looks like a lot of hassle. While that may be true, once you have it set up the way you wanted, you will appreciate a bike shed much more. This is because the more you use it the more you will get to know how much it actually helps you, despite being a plain-looking shed. Don't get fooled by looks though, because a shed is not supposed to be the elephant in the room (or yard in this case), instead it is meant to provide all its benefits without being obstructive. Talking about benefits here's some of them that will make you get a bike shed.
ConvenientBike sheds are a very convenient solution for storing your bike as it doesn't just make your cycling life more organised, but it also helps you declutter other parts of your house. I know it probably doesn't make sense saying it like this, but a bike storage shed can be used to store your bike gear, or tools too - useful when your bicycle is in need of a quick fix. If you are not big on gear and equipment, you can store multiple bikes at once or just have your bike in there for the most amount of accessibility.
Low Maintenance
With sheds, there's not a lot of maintaining going around once you've set them up. If you opt for a wooden shed there will be some sort of pre-treatment that needs to take place, in order to protect the wood from rotting or worms making holes inside it. But if you go with a metal shed you won't have such duties at hand as you will only need to clean it from time to time - sweeping the dirt and spraying the shed with a hose will do just fine.
Weatherproof
Unless you are lazy enough to leave your bike right next to the bike storage shed, you will benefit a lot from it when it comes to keeping your bike dry. Sheds are perfect at keeping your bike safe from poor weather conditions, like sleet, rain, snow and even a thunderstorm. If there's a lot of thunderstorms in your area its best to avoid a wooden shed and go for a metal one that has good grounding instead.
Secure
Probably the main reason why people get bike sheds is that they want to protect their bicycle from being stolen - this is the case if someone has a really expensive bike. Regardless of the type of bike you have and despite the fact that the shed is going to be in your yard, it's best to get one that has ground anchors. Obviously, metal sheds are going to be the best option here, as they can be quite heavy and have you know if someone is tampering with them, as metal doesn't absorb sound at all.
